What's a "standard room" at a hotel?

Trying to book a room in D.C., and "Standard rooms" are available. The site does not give a description or tells you the difference between a regular room and a standard room.

What's a "standard room" at a hotel?
The basic. Standard (as oppose to superior) means no view of city or other particular place, maybe has a back view, etc. It will have a bathroom, bed, table, tv, etc but no fancy stuff like extra towels or special toiletries or even a hairdryer or iron. You better contact the hotel via mail or check www.tripadvisor.com to read reviews about the hotel and see some pictures.
