Equations in standard form?

standard form of a line is ax+by+c=0, a is positive. put the equation in standard form.

a)2/3x=y-1/6

b)-1/5x=2/3-1/15y

how do i do this? i would appreciate an explanation and all work. thanks

Equations in standard form?
a)2/3x=y-1/6

first get rid of all fractions. Mult by lcd, 6

4x=6y-1 now get the y term on the same side as the x term

4x-6y=-1

------------------------------

b)-1/5x=2/3-1/15y mult by 15

-3x = 10 -y

-3x +y=10

now mult by -1 because the x term should have a positive coefficient

3x-y=-10
