thanks for your help

Write A Quadratic Function 2x^2 -4x - 7 In Standard Form????
You're probably expected to do this by completing the square

f(x) = 2x^2 - 4x - 7

f(x) = 2(x^2 - 2x + ___) - 7 - ____ you will complete the square by adding in [1/2 (-2)]^2inside the group and then subtracting it right back out at the end, times the 2 from front of the group.

f(x)=2(x^2 - 2x + 1) - 7 - 2(1)

f(x) = 2(x-1)^2 -9 after factoring the group and simplifying

Vertex (1, -9)

x-intercepts: set 2x^2 - 2x -7 = 0 and solve by using the quadratic formula.
Reply:vertex = (-b/2a, f(-b/2a))

x int = set x = to 0 = -1.12132 and 7
