Maths Help - standard form?

a) Write 0.00013 in standard form

b) Write 3.14 X 10to the power of 7

c) 2.5 X 10tothepowerof3 + 1.25 X 10tothepowerof4

Maths Help - standard form?
a) standard form means you take each digit times 10^n.

example... 432 = 4 x 10² + 3 x 10¹ + 2 x 10°

so your number

0.00013 = 1 x 10¯⁴+ 3 x 10¯5

b) 3.14 x 10^7 = 31,400,000

c) 2.5 x 10³ + 1.25 x 10⁴= 0.25 x 10⁴+ 1.25 x 10⁴= 1.5 x 10⁴
Reply:a) I think it's thirteen millionths. (yes you have to spell it out)

b) 3.14 x 10 (put the 7 right behind the 10 but put it all little above the line.

c) 2.5 x 10 3 (put it up a little ) + 10 (put the four behind the 10 a little above to line)

What grade are you in? This is simple! I wish my math was like this!
Reply:Any numbr written in S. F. is written in the form A x 10^n, where A lies between 1 and 10, and n is an integer.

0.00013 = 1.3 x 10^-4

3.14 x 10^7 = 31400000000

2.5 x 10^3 + 1.25 x 10^4

= 10^3(2.5 + 1.25 x 10)

= 10^3(2.5 + 12.5)

= 10^3 x 15

= 1.5 x 10^4.
Reply:isnt standard form like a + b + c =0?

idk what a is. but

b) 3.14 x 10,000,000 = 31,400,000

c) (2.5 x 1000) + (1.25 x 10,000)

= 2,500 + 12,500

= 15,000
Reply:a) 1.3 x 10 (to the power of) -4

b) 31,400,000

c) 15,000
