Write -3y = -1 + 5x in standard form.

a. -5x -3y=1

b. 5x + 3y = 1

c. y=(-5/3)x-1

d. 3x + 5y - 1 = 0

Write -3y = -1 + 5x in standard form.?
answer is b

standard form is ax+by=c
Reply:-3y=5x-1

do y on one side of the equals sign then on the other side put the x's then the integer
Reply:b. 5x + 3y = 1
Reply:b. 5x + 3y = 1

Remember that standard form is ax + by = c.

-3y = -1 + 5x (get the x and y on the same side of the equation)

Add 3y to the right side and add 1 to the left side.

And you get 5x + 3y = 1.
Reply:b.5x+3y=1

STANDARD FORM IS AX+BY=C

trust me i just finished learning this

the X cant be negative

so there fore you multiply everything by

-1 to cancel out negatives!
Reply:standard form is y=mx+b

so this would be

y= (-1+5x)/-3
