What is the stock gear ratio in a standard base 1991 Jeep Wrangler?
I looked at wikipedia, and answered it off of wajas, its B.
Reply:Most 6-cylinders got 3.07 or 3.55, most stick shift manual 6-cylinders got the 3.07.

Most 4-cylinders got 4.10, but 3.73 was also an option.

There are several methods for figuring out what gears you have. First there should be a tag on your diff cover. You can see this tag is stamped 3.07:

Next Dana axles have a bill of material code, which identifies everything in the axle this is stamped into the axle tube itself, and can be hard to spot as its very light. This picture shows a bill of material stamping:

Once you have this number, you can decode it on this Dana website:

You can also roughly estimate the gear ratio, by jack the rear axle up off the ground and spinning a tire, if the pinion makes 3.5 turns for one turn of the wheel you can figure you have 3.55 ratio.
Reply:there are 2 tabs on your differential the first 3 numbers on the second tab will tell you the gear ratio
