Standard Error of Estimate? (STATS)?

The following regression equation was computed from a sample of 20 observations:

Y _ 15 _ 5X

SSE was found to be 100 and SS total 400.

a. Determine the standard error of estimate.

b. Determine the coefficient of determination.

c. Determine the coefficient of correlation.

This is the question I was assigned. MOST IMPORTANTLY, i don't know what Y_15_5X means. I have NO idea actually. and what is the SSE and SS stand for? THANK YOU!

Standard Error of Estimate? (STATS)?
SS stands for the Sum of Squared deviations, or the totals of all the squares of the differences of the scores from the mean.

SSE is 'sum of squares of the estimate'. Same thing only for the estimated scores.

Your equation is not completely written, so I cannot definitely answer that one, but I am guessing it means when y is 15 x is 5, or as x goes up (or down) 1 unit, y goes in the same direction 3 units.
