How do I convert slope intercept form to standard from?

I know slope intercept form is y=mx+b and standard form is Ax+By=C but how do i convert them back and forth, do i sjut sswitch the figures around?

How do I convert slope intercept form to standard from?
slope intercept form is

y=mx+b

transposing you get y-mx-b=0

multiplying by (-1)

mx+y+b=0

if the slope intercept form is y=(a/b)x+k

by=ax+bk

transposing

by-ax-bk=0

multiplying by (-1( and writing bk as c

ax+by+c=0 which is the standard form
Reply:A simple switching of the figures should work, but I'd check your textbook first.
Reply:y=mx+b

=%26gt; mx-y+b=0

=%26gt; mx-y = -b

this is in the standard form A=m, B=-1, C=-b
Reply:If you have a formula

y = mx + c

and you want to get it into Ax + By + C = 0

Then you must do some rearranging.

subtract y from both sides

0 = mx - y + c
Reply:yes
