Standard form?

standard form is ax +by = c

so how do i find the dstandard form of the equation of the line with slope of -6 and passing through the points (9,7) ??

Standard form?
Slope is basically the "x", and it already says the slope is -6.

use the formula, y-y1=m(x-x1).

You know that"x(1)"=9 "y(1)"=7, and "y(1)"=7, so to sub it in:

y-7=-6(x-9).

y-7=-6x+54

y=-6x+61 %26lt;---- That is in point slope form.

To set it in standard form, add 6x to the left side to get:

****6x+y=61**** %26lt;----- That is in standard form

Hope this helps
Reply:slope = rise/run = delta y/delta x

so we know slope and one point...need another point (x,y) to get delta x and delta y

-6 = (7-y)/(9-x)

-54 + 6x = 7 - y

6x + y = 61
