Math Problem-Standard Form Equation?

[If possible, re-write the word problem AND solve it so that it makes sense]

Use Standard Form (Ax + By = C)

Gary wants to cut ganja worth $380 per ounce with ganja from Lucky who always has the cheap stuff worth $27 per ounce: the outcome is 20 ounce of a mixture of ganja worth $163 per ounce. How much of each are needed?

Math Problem-Standard Form Equation?
Let x be the amount of ganja worth $380 per ounce, and y be the amount of ganja worth $27 per ounce.

x+y = 20......(1)

380x+27y = 163(20)......(2)

(2)-(1)*27,

353x = 2720

Solve for x and y,

x = 7.7054 ounce

y = 12.2946 ounce
Reply:This is quite simple. Think: G ounces at $380 and L ounces at $27 What does this have to equal in the result, why of course

20 ounces at $163.

Then 380G + 27L = 20 (163)

Now think: the total ounces is 20 but this is made up of G ounces and L ounces thus G+L=20.

Now you can solve them because you have 2 equations in 2 unknowns
Reply:x = amount of $380 ganja

20-x = amount of $27 ganja

380x + 27(20-x) = 20(163)

380x + 540 -27x = 3260

353x = 2720

x = 7.71 ounces of $380 ganja

20-x = 12.29 ounces of $27 ganja
Reply:$1000 worth of bail money
