What's the difference between web-based email and standard email service?

Which is true about web-based email with respect to conventional e-amil:

a)Its better in all aspects

b)Its only accessible from our computers

c)Its faster than standard (outlook express) email services

d)It's slower than standard (outlook express) email services

What's the difference between web-based email and standard email service?
I would have to say C. I believe it SHOULD be A, but if this is a question in a test or something like that, then I would put C because the website has a direct connection with the SMTP server. Outlook Express must connect a port to the SMTP server (which actually must connect through other servers to get to the SMTP) which can be slow. The only downside to web-based email is that if you have no email connection you can't check email you've already recieved.
Reply:you can access all your emails from any computer

it doesn't automatically download on to your hard disk

you don't have to change email address if you change ISP
Reply:well, basically, one is more of a business type, which is web based. web-based is: A. and C.

every one mostly has a standard type e-mail.

i hope i answered your ? the way you wanted!
Reply:I have two e-mail accounts, one is both Web based and computer based my work one and the other is my home e-mail that is entirely Web based (i.e. Yahoo). The better account is either my work computer based e-mail or my Yahoo account. I think the problem occurs when you have Web access to a normally computer based e-mail account as it will sometimes (in my case only show the last three e-mails received and the history only goes back so far).
