Write in standard form, determine vaules of a, b,and c?

1. x^+6x-5=0

2. 4x^+20x=0

Thanks a whole bunch,

Write in standard form, determine vaules of a, b,and c?
the standard form is: Ax + By = C

in your two equations you dont have any 'y' so you might have typed it wrong but if it is right then 'B' is 0.

then combine like terms. this should leave you with Ax + (0)y = 0

to determine 'x' and 'y'...

PART #1

1. choose 'x' as zero

a. this eliminates 'Ax'

2. divide both sides by coefficient of 'y'

a. this leaves y = C/B

3. determine y

PART #2

1. choose 'y' as zero

a. this eliminates 'By'

2. divide both sides by coefficient of 'x'

a. this leaves y = C/A

3. determine x

i hope this helps!
Reply:standard form of what?

1.

a=1

b=6

c=-5

2.

b=20

c=0
