How do you put √x=2x-6 into a standard format of ax^2+bx+c=0?

square both sides.

x=4x^2-24x+36

subtract x from both sides.

0=4x^2-25x+36

that should be the answer

the last number can't be 26 because 6 x 6 is 36, not 26

How do you put √x=2x-6 into a standard format of ax^2+bx+c=0?
√x=2x-6

Start by squarring both sides (note: not square root)

you get

x = (2x-6)^2

factor it, and combine like terms

x = 4x^2 - 24x + 26

0 = 4x^2 - 25x + 26
