If you get the x and y intercept of an equation how do you put it into standard form?

Ax + By=C standard form

If you get the x and y intercept of an equation how do you put it into standard form?
x - intercept = (x,0) and y-int = (0,y)

First find the slope.

Use 1st y = mx + b, substituting in x and y to find b.

Then write the equation from there in standard form.

Example (3,0) and (0,-2) Slope = 2/3

y = mx+b

-2 = 2/3(3) + b

-2 = 4/3 + b

b = -10/3

y = 4/3 x - 10/3 Mult by 3

3y = 4x - 10

4x - 3y = 10
Reply:as an example

given is x/(3y) = 3

then x = 9y =%26gt; x - 9y = 0.

x intercept is where y = 0 thus fill in y = 0 : x - 9y = 0 =%26gt; x - 0 = 0 =%26gt; x = 0

the y intercept is where x = 0 : 0-9y=0 =%26gt; y=0
Reply:The intercept form of the equation of a straight line Is:

x/a +y/b =1, where a is x-intercept and b is y-intercept.

So (bx + ay)/ab = 1

bx + ay = ab

So b = A, a = B, and C = ab

So equation is:

bx +ay = ab
